Ordering Process
Our Shipping Services
Ordering Process IT IS IMPORTANT TO TREAT ORDERS FOR DIMENSIONAL CUT
STONE DIFFERENTLY THAN STONE VENEER OR OTHER TYPES
OF STONE TO BE ORDERED. Dimensional cut stone requires
sample selections and approvals, shop drawings and
cutting lists to be done and approved, and dimensional
fabrication. Dimensional stone pieces are cut and
machined and then finished to very close tolerances.
Dimensional cut stone commonly requires a four to
six week lead time from the date the order shop tickets
are released complete with approved samples and color
range. Plan ahead so your dimensional cut stone can
be delivered to your project when the veneer will
be there.
When we receive a signed order from you, we will
begin processing your job.
Your order will be assigned to a project manager.
He/She will prepare your shop tickets (unless you
provide your own) and submit to you for approval.
The project cannot be released to our shop for fabrication
without your approval on each of the tickets.
If you have not established credit with our company
you will be sent an application for credit. If your
order requires any pre-pay arrangements you will be
contacted to fulfill these requirements. The project
manager will continue to work on your project during
this time. Failure to meet any prepayment or down
payment arrangements may delay your job from being
released for fabrication which could cause delays
in the shipping schedule.
Credit terms are net 30 days from date of invoice.
Accounts that are not current may have shipments held
until they are current including any interest accrued
on late payments. Accounts may be switched to C.O.D.
if payments go beyond 60 days past due.
The project manager will give you an approximate
period of time for the production process. They will
verify the shipping address, shipping method and the
site contact information for your order prior to any
shipment of material.
If there have been any changes to the project scope
after the signed order was placed, the project manager
will notify you to execute a “Change Order”
to VSM. You will need to sign the change order
accepting the scope and price changes prior to the
material being shipped to your site.
When your project is close to being completed you
will be contacted by VSM to establish a final shipping
date. Please note that VSM will make every effort
to meet that date. Keep in mind, all parties with
the right of material approval and choice jointly
control whether a schedule can be maintained. If decisions
are not made or delayed that stops us from releasing
the stone for production and delays will occur. We
will make every effort to work with you and your client
to produce and deliver our stone per the schedule
agreed upon.
Cleaning, Care and Maintenance instructions are provided
by means of pallet tags attached to the material that
is shipped to the site. Additional assistance is available
through our representative from Prosoco. (See Care
& Maintenance section of this website)
After your order arrives if there are any fabrication,
stone color, or shipping damage problems they must
be documented immediately. The use of a digital camera
is very helpful to show damage to material prior to
unloading and when unpacking a pallet. Do not install
material that you feel does not meet the approved
color range. Notify VSM immediately if any question
exists regarding the stone shipped. Our staff will
work closely with you to resolve any issues as quickly
as possible.

Shipping Services
Our company can work with you to arrange any of your
shipping needs for our product. We can include this
into your quote/estimate using the most economical
or expeditious service available, dependent upon delivery
priority, while maintaining quality product care &
delivery services. Specific information as to site
delivery address, directions, site contact and cell
phone number, date required, pallet weights allowable,
special packaging or handling, etc. will be required.
Our products are hand-packed on 2 to 4 Ton Pallets
using Styrofoam spacers to ensure that your stone
will not be damaged during shipping. If the stone
will not fit our standard pallet size of 42”
x 48”, we can provide alternative packaging
suggestions and solutions. After the stone is packaged
on the pallet, it is stretch-wrapped and banded with
edge clips for extra protection. Since packaging affects
pricing and shipping costs, special packaging requirements
need to be specified in the scope of work prior to
the pricing/bidding of the project. Each individual
piece of stone will have a stone mark that you can
reference to your shop tickets. These will also appear
on the Bill of Lading you will receive at the time
of delivery.
Our shipping department will load the stone onto
the truck thus ensuring that it is handled with care
before it leaves VSM.
