Valders Stone & Marble, Inc. (VSM) can help you prepare your budget, quote and/or estimate to your client. Plans and drawing documents can be sent electronically to Valders Stone & Marble, Inc. We currently use AutoCAD version 2006 and can receive these documents in PDF, DWG, and DWF formats.

• An estimate is based upon final drawings and is supported by written specs and detailed plans and drawings - Bid Price.

• A quotation is based upon partially developed drawings and plans and may need to be reviewed for completeness of scope against the estimate documents.

• A budget is based upon basic information and generally is “loose” due to the lack of specific information available at an early or preliminary stage of the project planning or procurement. This process is used most extensively to spur a decision on, or a choice of, materials to use on a project.

The Estimate / Quote Process

1. Submit drawings or an overview of your project by e-mail, fax, or mail services.  (It is a good practice to call ahead and let us know what your need is, and what is being sent, so we know what to expect ahead of time)

2. Please note any color or finish preferences your client may have.  We can quote alternative colors or finishes to provide options for your clients.

3. Please include your contact information, Project Name & site address and any additional information that can help us process your estimate correctly.  Please list a projected “material on site” date for the project.  This will help us be able to give you a timeline of when the order would have to be placed to meet any deadlines.

4. We will return your estimate/quote in the fashion you submitted it.

5. VSM will work with you on any budgeting concerns your client may have.  Our professional staff can suggest value engineering that will maintain or improve your project quality and deliver the aesthetic impact you desire.
